As had been forecast by Skymet Weather, rains have already started making an appearance over South and Northeast Delhi.  Multiple parts of Delhi NCR including Ghaziabad, Northeast Delhi and South Delhi are seeing heavy hailstorm activities and rains. Similar conditions are likely to continue for the next few hours. In fact, heavy rains are lashing parts of Noida as well.

Updated on March 14, 12 pm: Clear weather, soaring temperatures, good air forecast for Delhi on March 15

Since March 3, national capital Delhi has been receiving on and off rain activities. These rains have been occurring due to the region being approached by successive Western Disturbances.

Today morning also, scattered rains and thundershowers were witnessed over parts of Delhi and NCR. Although, now, we do not expect any significant rain activities over the region. However, the sky may remain cloudy over Delhi and NCR and isolated rains cannot be ruled out during the afternoon hours. Their intensity will be patchy and light.

So, we can say that now the chances of moderate showers are almost over as the Western Disturbance is moving away eastwards. Moreover, the Trough which was extending from Punjab to Bihar has also shifted northwards over foothills of Uttar Pradesh.

The weather of Delhi NCR will start clearing up, tomorrow onward. Clear sky, bright sunshine and soaring temperatures will be witnessed. In fact, since the last many days, day temperatures are below normal by two to three degrees over Delhi and NCR.

Moreover, by March 20, we expect Delhi to witness maximum temperatures above 30 degree Celsius. By the end of March, the temperatures of Delhi and NCR may remain between lower 30s and mid-30s.

The next rain episode over Delhi NCR is ruled out for the next one week from now and weather will remain clear.

Since the last one week or so, Delhi has been witnessing good air quality. AQI is hovering around the 100 mark. So, most parts of Delhi and NCR are witnessing moderate to satisfactory air quality. We do not expect any further increase in air pollution for the next two to three days. Thereafter, there may be a marginal  deterioration in air quality due to light winds and clear weather.
