It is election day for both Meghalaya and Nagland, which happen to be mostly Christian dominated. Both these states have 60 Assembly seats each, however, voting has begun for 59 constituencies in both these states. The election has been cancelled at Williamnagar in the state of Meghalaya after the NCP candidate was killed in an IED blast on February 18.
If weather conditions over these areas are to be mentioned, the states of Nagaland and Meghalaya have been witnessing rainfall activities for the past few days. The last 24 hours were also rainy enough for both the states with a few places witnessing light rainfall.

In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Kohima recorded 4 mm of rainfall while Shillong saw 1 mm of rain.
However, as far as election day, i.e. today is concerned, rains will remain on the backseat and weather will be clear over both Meghalaya as well as Nagaland. While there was clouding over Kohima during the morning hours, it is expected to clear up.
The state of Nagaland usually ends up recording a high voter turnout. However, as far as the number of electorate is concerned, it is less than 50 percent of what is present in the state of Meghalaya. Coming to temperatures, Nagaland and Meghalaya see cold weather creeping in during the early hours of evening itself which is expected to be the case today as well.
