After remaining dry for almost the entire February, rains occurred in parts of Andhra Pradesh the third consecutive day beginning since March 19. However, parts of West Bengal had been witnessing rains since March 18.
In the last couple of days, rain god bestowed over parts of Odisha as well. Some light showers occurred over all the three aforesaid states in the last 24 hours thereby breaking the monotonous week long dry spell that was prevailing in various districts of these states.
Let’s have a look at the rainfall recorded in all the three states in the span 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday:
As predicted by Skymet Weather, these rains were a result of the cyclonic circulation which was over the northern parts of West Bengal. Moreover, a trough was also extending from this system up to Tamil Nadu across Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.
On account of both these weather systems resulted in rains over West Bengal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Northern Odisha.
However, now the trough is weakening and is gradually moving eastwards. Additionally, the moisture incursion that was taking place from the Bay of Bengal has also started decreasing. Due to the combined effect of both these activities, the weather has already started clearing up.
Moreover, with reduced rain activities over all the three regions, the day temperatures may also start rising within the next 24 hours. Maximum temperatures are expected to rise by 3-4°C in another two to three days.
Skymet Weather further did not foresee any significant weather system approaching over these regions. Hence, the sky will remain clear with a few clouds and some sunny spells can be expected to show up.
