The first phase of the Uttar Pradesh elections is about to begin today and weather conditions are in favour of the ones polling in West Uttar Pradesh. The last elections in 2012 were won by the ruling party, the Samajwadi Party by a majority.

Today, voting for the first phase of the Uttar Pradesh elections will begin in 73 constituencies. The Samajwadi Party and Congress have joined hands and are a team now after the much public friends and foe saga between Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi.

Rainfall activity is expected over isolated parts of Uttar Pradesh that are bordering the state of Madhya Pradesh. These conditions will be attributed to the presence of an upper air cyclonic circulation over Interior Odisha and adjoining Chhattisgarh. However, the constituencies where the elections are being held will continue to witness clear weather conditions.
