Cities in plains of North India recording minimums close to 5 Degrees or less

People of North India have been experiencing cold weather conditions with minimums dropping continuously. These conditions are a result of heavy spell of snowfall in the states of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Cold wave conditions are prevailing in the pockets of North India with minimums recording below normal on successive days.

 

However, cloudy skies have resulted in some respite with minimums rising marginally in parts of North India. This respite has occurred due to the Western Disturbance, which is moving across Jammu & Kashmir and cyclonic circulation across Punjab & neighbouring areas.
