Circulation Over Bay Of Bengal Weakens, Yet Another Weather System Likely By End Of Week

November 28, 2022 2:39 PM |

Cyclonic circulation over East-Central Bay of Bengal ( BoB ) and adjoining region has weakened. It is now marked in the lowers levels only and seen as a trough in the higher levels.  Weather activity remains confined to the sea and stops short of shoreline. It is likely to flatten further and become nearly insignificant over the next 2 days.

Another cyclonic circulation is expected to emerge over central parts of Andaman Sea around 03-04 Nov. Like the existing one over east-central BoB, the weather system will move across the Gulf of Thailand, Arakan Coast and Northern parts of Malay Peninsula.  Under its influence, a low pressure area may form over southeast and adjoining south central BoB in the subsequent 24hr.

Earlier cyclonic circulation had emerged over the North Andaman Sea on 24th Nov and meandered over that area. It slowly moved over the central parts of BoB and did not grow in stature and size. It is likely to get filled up over the sea itself. Remnant of this may cause light rain over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, between 30th Nov and 02nd Dec.

Fresh system, on formation will get organise and strengthen over the warm sea surface. It is little early to predict about intensity and track. However, the initial indications suggest better prospects for its augmentation and likely intensification to well marked low pressure or a depression by end of the week.  Meteorological developments need to be observed for another 48hr for authentic prediction.
