Christmas in Delhi to be a foggy and cold affair

December 25, 2018 9:29 AM | Skymet Weather Team

Delhi weather has been as cold as it can get. Temperatures have been falling for quite some time now. Along with this, the city had been reeling under Cold Wave conditions as the minimum temperature at 3.7 degrees Celsius, yesterday which was the coldest day in December in more than a decade. The last time the city saw such low minimum was on December 29, 2007 at 3.9 degrees Celsius.

In fact, the city woke up to a foggy morning today wherein the visibility was at around 400 metres which did affect flights adversely to some extent.

At present, an induced cyclonic circulation can be seen over Central Pakistan and adjoining Punjab and Rajasthan. Winds have also become southeasterly in nature, due to which there has been a marginal increase in the minimum temperatures. Today, the minimum settled at 4 degrees, which is three degrees below the normal levels.

Talking about how the weather is going to be on Christmas Day, foggy morning will once again make an appearance tomorrow as well, and while the day will remain sunny, haziness will prevail in the sky. Minimum temperature may see a slight increase but will continue to be below normal levels.

Maximum temperature on the other hand will settle near the normal levels. Talking about Delhi Pollution, it seems like Santa Claus will have to find his way through polluted air to deliver presents as Pollution will remain on the higher side.
