We have entered the thick of winter season, yet the cold wave conditions have not a made an appearance over North and Central India. Days continues to be warm and nights are bearably cold, but the biting cold wintry weather is still missing across the plains of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

Minimum temperatures are settling near normal barring one or two places where also they are marginally below normal. Meanwhile, maximum temperatures are above normal average at most places that too by 3-4 degrees.
This year, due to the absence of dense fog and winter rains, weather during the day is warm and sunny. According to Skymet Weather, till now, we have seen only one active Western Disturbance around December 11, which had given widespread rains and snow over the hills and plains of North India.
Thereafter, no significant system had approached the region that could impact the weather. As per weathermen, day maximums normally witness drop when moderate to dense fog persists throughout the day.

No such scenarios have been witnessed so far, therefore, days continued to be warm. Moving ahead, we do not expect much changes in the prevailing weather conditions.
Foggy mornings will continue to be at bay for the next few days and winter rains are also not expected. Thus, days would be warm and comfortable and maximum temperatures will continue to be above normal.
Major cities of Lucknow, Jaipur, Delhi, Agra, Amritsar, Hisar, and Indore would continue with mild wintry conditions.
Till now, minimum temperatures have not fallen below 4°C which is essential for frost formation. Though the sky is clear but temperatures are not conducive for frost formation. However, it is beneficial for the crops in Haryana, Punjab and adjoining Rajasthan.
