Dry weather conditions have been prevalent over the city of Kolkata since almost a month. So much so that, both the maximum and minimum temperatures have been settling beneath the normal level by a few notches.

Even today, Kolkata has again recorded a low minimum temperature of 10.9°C. Likewise, the maximum temperature over the region was reported to be 22.7°C. Thus, it is quite apparent that the mercury is running three notches below the normal level.
Skymet Weather expects shallow fog to continue over the city for the next 48 hours during the morning hours. Also, the cold winds from the north will continue to affect many parts of Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata. In consequence to this, the day and night temperatures are predicted to remain settling below the normal level. Days would remain comfortable with bright sunshine, followed by cold nights.

Further, temperatures are anticipated to increase by one to two notches around January 14 and 15. That time, days would become warm and sunny and nights would be cool. The mercury is most likely to range in mid 20s.
Weathermen do not foresee any specific weather activity over the city of Joy for at least the next two weeks. The weather will continue to pleasant in most districts of Kolkata.
