At present Chhattisgarh has received normal rainfall with just 3% less than usual. During last 24 hours, many places of Chhattisgarh have received good rains. Rajnandgaon has received 38 mm of rainfall, Ambikapur 31 mm, Jagdalpur 26 mm and Bilaspur received 20 mm of rainfall.
Now, a cyclonic circulation which was over North Chhattisgarh has shifted towards Northeast Madhya Pradesh and the axis of Monsoon trough is also passing through Chhattisgarh. Another weather system in the form of low-pressure area is presently seen over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Coastal Odisha and is expected to move in a westerly direction towards interior parts of Odisha and Chhattisgarh.
The amalgamation of these multiple weather systems will continue to give good rain over many districts of Chhattisgarh for next 2-3 days. Some areas may even receive isolated heavy to very heavy rain spells during the next 48 hours.
These on and off rains are likely to continue in the state for at least a few days. Owing to these light to moderate rain, rain statistics of Chhattisgarh is expected to turn positive by the end of this week.
