Seems, like Central India is gearing up for another wet spell. A weather system in the form of a Confluence Zone has formed over Central parts of the country covering East Madhya Pradesh to Karnataka region from the anti-cyclonic flow which is over Andhra Pradesh and adjoining Odisha. These systems will induce rain and thundershower activity at many places over Chhattisgarh and Odisha in the coming 24 to 48 hours. Isolated rains are also at possibility over Vidarbha and adjoining Marathwada region.
Cities like that of Nagpur, Gondia, Chandrapur, Raigarh, Raipur, Sukuma, Bastar, Jagdalpur, Bilaspur, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Bhubaneswar, Jharsuguda and Phulbani in these areas have already been alerted.
As were observed in the last few days, temperatures over Vidarbha and adjoining Odisha region remained very high. Present moisture over these areas will trigger development of thunderclouds at many places which may result in thundershower activities with strong gusty winds. Squalls and moderate lightening is also possible at a few places.
Chances of isolated hailstorm cannot be ruled out over Vidarbha and adjoining Chhattisgarh region.
This activity is likely to persist over the area for another 48 hours and then will start reducing by March 4.
