Chennai has been witnessing dry weather conditions for the past one week. However, the month of December had started on a rainy note. The weather system prevailing in the Bay of Bengal which was termed as Cyclone Ockhi in the latter part of its course gave some spells over the city.

Presently, the weather during the day and afternoon is warm and humid as Chennai is a coastal station. However, the mornings and nights are comfortable. The night temperatures are settling around 21°C to 23°C and day temperatures are ranging between 31°C to 32°C.
As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, there will be no significant change in the weather across the city and adjoining areas. Weather will remain dry across Chennai during the next 24 hours. However, on account of the cyclonic circulation which is prevailing in the Comorin area and northeast Monsoon effect, some localized rain may occur during the mid-week. Rainfall may occur on Wednesday and Thursday.
