Foggy mornings have become a distant dream for most parts of both the plains and the hills pf North India. So much so that East and Central parts of India are also enjoying fog free mornings for quite some time now.

However, weather conditions have taken a turn and several parts of Northwest India are observing severe cold wave. So much so that minimum temperatures in many parts of Punjab and Rajasthan are going below the zero degree mark.

Today morning as well, foggy mornings remained far away from most parts of the country, particularly Northwest and East India. However, in a turn of events, isolated areas of the southern parts of the country woke up to a foggy morning.

The visibility in the capital city of Tamil Nadu, Chennai dropped to a mere 350 metres resulting in moderate fog over the city. Not only this, moderate fog was also witnessed over Visakhapatnam where the visibility was recorded at 500 metres.

These weather conditions in the above-mentioned cities can be attributed to localized factors only. Once the sun comes up, the conditions are expected to improve. Most parts of the national capital remained fog free, however, the Palam Airport recorded a visibility of a mere 200 metres only.
