Chennai has been witnessing hefty rains from the past two days, so much so that water logging and traffic jams have become a usual affair.
In the last 24 hours, Chennai recorded 41 mm of rains, Cuddalore 14 mm, Parengipettai 51, Karaikal 48 mm and Karaikal 58 mm of rains.

As per Skymet Weather, on and off intense spell of northeast Monsoon rains will lash Chennai and nearby coastal areas during the next 2 to 3 days.
