Chennai has been recording on and off rains at regular intervals for the last few days. Now, weathermen are predicting more rains for the state capital during the next few days. All thanks to a trough that is seen extending from Rayalaseema to Comorin area across Interior Tamil Nadu. With this, levels of moisture have increased over the region, resulting in the development of thunderclouds over Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu.

In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Cuddalore recorded 52 mm of rain, Kanyakumari 7 mm, Kodaikanal 5.4 mm, and Coimbatore 1 mm. Meanwhile, Chennai remained dry yesterday.
