The weather of Chennai has been playing the game of hide and seek. On one hand, Chennai’s Nungambakkam Observatory has recorded few traces of rains while the Minambakkam Observatory has not witnessed any rains in the last 48 hours.

Thus, the rains were severely in patches and did not occur in a larger area of the city which is why no change in the maximum temperatures was witnessed. In the last 24 hours, the daytime high remained to settle at 33.5 degrees Celsius.

As per Skymet Weather,  as of now also, isolated light rains are expected to keep drenching Chennai for at least another 2-3 days. However, thereafter, the intensity may once again pace up over the city and some good showers may show up for at least another 1-2 days.

Though due to the formation of a feeble trough over Tamil Nadu Coast, not much changes in the temperature profile is anticipated. Skymet Weather reiterates that the maximum is expected to remain in lower 30's while the minimum may settle in mid-20's.

Moreover, the day is likely to remain warm and humid which will increase the discomfort level of the inhabitants of the capital of Tamil Nadu.

The monthly average rainfall that Chennai city usually records in the month of October stands at 315.6 mm and as on today, the state capital has recorded 98 mm of rains. However, to be able to surpass its monthly mean, Chennai has to record some really good showers in the remaining days of the month.
