These rains can be attributed to the presence of a cyclonic circulation near Tamil Nadu coast. Along with this, a trough is running from east central Arabian Sea up to Bay of Bengal. Thus, due to these weather systems, good rains are expected to occur over entire Tamil Nadu.
While light to moderate showers will be seen over the city of Chennai, extremely southern parts of Tamil Nadu will witness slightly heavier rains.
