The rains began to reduce after the weather system started to move towards northwest plains. And since the beginning of December, the city has not witnessed any rains. The last 24 hours were also no different and both the observatories, Minambakkam and Nungambakkam failed to record any rains. However, now Chennai is likely to witness some light spells.

As per Skymet Weather, in the next 24 hours, some parts of Chennai and a few parts of South Tamil Nadu are likely to witness light rains. The sky conditions are expected to remain partly cloudy and these rains are anticipated to occur due to an upper-air trough that persists over Southwest Bay of Bengal.

The wind speed will remain light and the maximums and minimums are expected to settle near 33°C and 24°C respectively. The weather will continue to remain warm and humid.
