During the last 24 hours light to moderate rains occurred at scattered places over the south Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
At present a Cyclonic Circulation is marked over the West central Bay of Bengal off Tamil Nadu coast. Also, the persistent off-shore Trough aligning along the West Coast of India is affecting the weather over the state of Tamil Nadu as a continuous inflow of moist winds is taking places over western Tamil Nadu.
Under the influence of these two systems, good rainfall activity is being forecast over the entire state of Tamil Nadu in the next 24 to 36 hours. The western and eastern parts of the state will see the maximum induction of weather activities in the form of moderate rains. A few isolated places might even record heavy rainfall. Places like that of Cuddalore, Karaikal, Vellore, Coimbatore, Coonoor, Kodaikanal, Udhagamandalam, Dharmapuri will be the witness to these rainfall activities. Even the capital city of Chennai is going to witness good rainfall activities in the next 24 to 36 hours.
On the other hand, only light to moderate rainfall is being forecast for interior parts of Tamil Nadu. Cities like that of Madurai, Karur, Tiruchirappali, Dindigul etc will see such light rains.
