Chennai weather has remained dry for the past few days. So much so that the city has not witnessed any rains during the entire month of February. However, as we have entered the first leg of March, rains are likely to make an appearance over the capital city of Tamil Nadu.
During the last two to three days, the city of Chennai has been witnessing partly cloudy conditions. This cloudy weather is expected to be followed by rainfall. As per weathermen at Skymet, Chennai and its adjoining areas in the state of Tamil Nadu are expected to receive some rains tomorrow.
At present, a feeble trough is presently over Coastal Tamil Nadu. Another trough is extending from Comorin Area to East Bay of Bengal. Due to these weather features, light rains are likely over Chennai on March 4 and 5.
During the month of February, Chennai remained as dry as a bone. Not even a mm of rainfall was observed over the city. Not only this, there were several occasions when the maximum temperatures in the state capital were being observed slightly above the normal levels.
