The weather is becoming favourable for rain in the hilly and plains of North India before the post-monsoon season is over. It is expected that rain and snowfall will be seen in some areas on the mountains on 27 and 28 December, then rain activities will be recorded in some places in the plains.
As expected, a western disturbance has reached close to the mountains of North India at this time. The impact of this system will be seen not only in the mountains but in some areas of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. Due to the Western Disturbance, a cyclonic circulation will form over the plains, which will change the winds in Haryana, Punjab, Delhi-NCR and Western Uttar Pradesh. There will be some decrease in the morning and night cold but the weather will be relatively cool during the day.
As per the meteorologists in Skymet, rain and snowfall activities will be recorded at some places from Jammu and Kashmir to Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. This rain and snow are expected on 27 and 28 December. Rain and snowfall will be mild to moderate. During this time there is no possibility of heavy snow or torrential rain due to which there is no possibility of any threat to normal life on the mountains.
Due to the changing wind trend in the plains too, high clouds will be seen in some areas on 27 and 28 December. These clouds reduce the effect of sunlight but do not give rain. However, in some areas in the Terai regions of Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh, low cloud cover may also occur, due to which light rain may occur at some places in these parts during these two days. The weather will remain mainly clear and dry in northern Rajasthan including Delhi and southern parts of Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh.
