Central India to witness dry weather, mercury all set to rise

September 6, 2016 3:10 PM |

Weather in IndiaWith the Southwest Monsoon going into the withdrawal phase, we can see gradual changes in the weather conditions across the country. One such major change can be seen over Central India, where weather has gone dry.

In absence of any Monsoon system, rains have been far and few over the region that includes Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Besides this, humid easterly winds have been now replaced with dry and warm northwesterly and westerly winds.

According to Skymet Weather, weather systems stop traveling up to Central India by this time. They mainly remain confined to East India.

In wake of this, both maximum and minimum temperatures are set to increase. Dry winds will also lead to significant decrease in humidity levels. With this, mornings and nights will be quite pleasant but days will be warm and humid.

However, isolated spell of passing showers cannot be ruled out. As per the weathermen, back to back weather systems have left a large amount of moisture over the region. Now the increase in mercury could lead to development of convective clouds that may bring spot rainfall over parts of the region.

The Southwest Monsoon is a four-month long season, spanning from June to September. The Monsoon goes into the withdrawal phase as it enters into September.

The official date for the commencement of the withdrawal of Monsoon is September, that begins from West Rajasthan and thereafter receding gradually from other parts of the country.
