Southwest Monsoon has been active over Uttar Pradesh during last 24 hours.  In fact, eastern parts of the state have seen few spells of heavy showers as well. Moderate to heavy showers have occurred over East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha as well.

The fresh low pressure area over North Bay of Bengal, off Odisha coast, will intensify rains over East India including Odisha. On the other hand, the low pressure area over Southeast Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas will enhance rains over the state along with Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh.

In a span of 24 hours, from 8.30 am on Monday, Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh received 71 mm of rainfall.

Moreover, the axis of the Monsoon trough at mean sea level is also passing through Amritsar, Ambala, Shahjahanpur, centre of low pressure area over Southeast Uttar Pradesh, Hazaribagh, Bankura and thence southeastwards to the centre of low pressure area over North Bay of Bengal.

Thus, we can say that multiple weather systems will enhance rainfall activities over Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh during next 24 to 48 hours.

As of now, Central India is the best performing region in the country with excess Monsoon rains to the tune of 11%. Here, the subdivision of West Madhya Pradesh has received 43% more rains than normal till August 15, 2016.
