Monsoon systems developing in Bay follow varied tracks either going towards Indo Gangetic Plains, or going towards South Madhya Pradesh and sometimes these systems cut right across the central parts including Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra.

When this happens, rains occur on either side of the track including Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. During this time, area of influence is much larger. The system then has the potential to induce enormous amount of rains.

This time also, the central parts saw a Monsoon system cutting across the aforementioned states. The last two days saw heavy rains over the central and its adjoining parts. In spite of rains only over Central India, 30 percent excess rains were seen Pan India a day before. Rains were heavier with 71 percent excess rains in the last 24 hours.

Courtesy these systems, whatever deficiency was persisting in pockets of Marathwada, Gujarat and even parts of Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand were reduced due to these systems. These systems even change the position of Monsoon trough as it aligns in position of the system.
