This particular week for North India has been a bumper one with unusually heavy rains over the entire region. Both the hills as well as the plains have seen some good showers. Moreover, all subdivisions have seen large excess rains barring East Uttar Pradesh.
These rains can be attributed to a few Western Disturbances as well as the induced Cyclonic Circulations which have caused continuous rains and snow over hills and plains over North India. Talking about the amount of rainfall, Northwest India has seen 24.5 mm of rains, against the normal of 4.1 mm of rains making it already, a 400 percent excess.
As far as the forecast is concerned, good rains are expected over North India including Punjab, Haryana today, tomorrow and on January 9. Moreover, tomorrow and day after tomorrow are penultimate days with relief only expected around January 10.
