Brief respite from Delhi heat, temperatures to still be above normal

Delhi and the NCR region had been observing and relented heat for the past many days. In fact, a day before yesterday the national capital recorded the highest maximum of the season which was 9° above the normal levels.

However, with the passage of the western disturbance, winds have become northwesterly and Delhi temperatures have increased to 31.4 degrees. However, these conditions are still not on the cooler side and the maximum temperature continues to be 7° above normal today as well.

As there is still time for another western disturbance to approach the western Himalayan region, we may see that the temperatures may reduce slightly but they will continue to be above normal levels and we do not expect them to reach the normal category.

There may be on and off clouding as well over the national capital however we cannot expect any rainfall until the end of this month as even the next system that comes around 25th will be confined to the hills and not have a rainy effect over the plains.

From 25th, temperatures will be rising and once again Delhi heat may come back as temperatures may surpass 33°C.
