After having seen a marginal drop in the temperature in the recent past, Mumbai sizzled at 38°C today. This is the maximum temperature that the city has recorded in the season.  Marginal change is expected in the temperatures as the city is expected to get continues high temperatures for the coming days.

Mumbai rains have been lost somewhere. No weather activity has affected the commercial capital of the country during the past few weeks. In fact, Pre-Monsoon showers have remained absent from the capital city of Maharashtra for about 50 days now.

The last time the city received good rains were on March 16. April and May are two of the hottest months of the year. In June, Monsoon showers keep the temperatures under check. The first four months of the year remain practically dry. Almost no rains are observed during the winter months as well.

While the city did record some rain in March, April has remained practically dry. During the last few days, temperatures have been recording close to the normal levels. However, Mumbai did observe its fair share of heat spells during the second week of April. Temperatures were on the higher side between April 8 and 12. The maximum also reached 36.8 degrees on April 8.

After that, Mercury witnessed a marginal drop with maximums settling in the low 30s during the last few days. While Mumbai does observe a humid afternoon, moderate to strong sea breeze results in pleasant evenings.

The city may witness a marginal rise in temperatures during the next few days. With no Pre-Monsoon showers afternoons will continue to remain hot and humid. However, sea breeze will be the relieving factor during the evening hours.  In the month of May, some Pre-Monsoon activity may occur during the second half of the month resulting in pleasant weather conditions.
