Delhi Weather: Cold snap exits, Spring to enter soon

Weather in Delhi has begun to indicate the gradual retreat of winter from the national capital city. Both maximum and minimum temperatures are showing the rising trend, however, keeping Delhiites in a dilemma whether keep the woolens on a stand-by or stacked in the closet.

For the past few days, windy conditions have provided the relief from rising temperatures, making February 2016 the most pleasant on record.

According to Skymet Weather, winter chill has already been evading the national capital since the beginning of February and not even a single day of bone-chilling winter or fog was witnessed. Usually, Delhi witnesses a spell of chilly winters during the first half of the month, which was not experienced this year.

Barring the first week, minimum temperatures have been settling in double digits. While, maximum temperatures are in mid-20s since last month. This can be attributed to the absence of any significant winter rains over Delhi. In fact, Delhi has remained practically dry since December till now. While January recorded mere 0.1 mm of rain, February has been no better so far, with just 0.2 mm of rain.

As we proceed further, night temperatures are likely to rise significantly during next three days in the wake of the approaching rainy spell. This spell may drop day temperatures over Delhi but will not be able to bring back the wintry chill.
However, early mornings and late evening will be slightly cold.

After the passage of the rainy spell, sunny days will make a comeback forcing the maximums to shoot up once again. This time, these temperatures are likely to settle in higher 20s. Meanwhile, minimums will drop but will continue to settle in double digits.
