Since the last five days, Northwest India has been seeing dry weather conditions. The frequency of Western Disturbances has reduced over the hills of North India. Although, we expect a couple of systems to approach the Himalayan region, but they will be feeble in nature, thereby not affecting the Northern Plains at all.
Therefore, temperatures will witness a rise in parts of Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, Delhi NCR, West Uttar Pradesh. Temperatures have already seen a significant increase in Delhi and the NCR region. Palam yesterday recorded the maximum over 43 degrees Celsius, and Safdarjung saw maximum above 41 degrees Celsius.
Now, heat wave conditions will occur over Delhi and NCR, parts of Haryana, isolated pockets of Punjab and West Uttar Pradesh. Rajasthan has already seen maximums above 45 degrees in some parts due to which the region is already seeing heat wave conditions.
Now, heat wave will now make an appearance over other parts of Northwest India as well gradually. In the next one week, no weather activity is expected over the plains due to which heat wave will continue to prevail.
Hot and dry northwesterly winds will continue to blow over these regions which will aid in increasing the temperatures. Bright sunny days, heat wave, dry weather will be dominant over the Northwest India.
