Brace yourself, winter is coming

December 9, 2014 4:03 PM |

Chill is the condiment that gives winter its flavor.

A condiment that has been missing from parts of North India where people are still unable to decide that whether its winters or not.

Well, the mischief of the weather Gods led to the establishment of a false alarm of winter setting in but people residing in North India or who claim to have imbibed winters since childhood were still far away from experiencing the winter chill.

Unfortunately, the wait for winter, lasted long.

Good news is - the unusually warm spell in winter across North India is not likely to last long as rain is expected over the weekend.

As light rain happens and temperatures dip, people in North India, especially Delhiites, can look forward to waking up to a chilly Sunday morning.

It also means that they can finally prepare to show-off the stylish hoodies and absolutely chic boots that were breathing uneasily inside their closet for the longest time. Reason: Single digit minimums, cold wave and fog appearing in parts of North India; all failed to deliver the biting cold that characterize winters in India.

But it’s time for a warm welcome to colder days and chilly nights because according to Skymet Meteorology Division in India, thick of winters is all set to make a grand entry into Delhi and other parts of North India.

Technically speaking, the weather system - cyclonic circulation, will form over North Rajasthan on 12th December which will travel to Northern plains including Punjab and Haryana and result in scattered rain on 13th December and widespread rain on the 14th .

Savour the flavor

Due to a warm beginning of December, people have been missing the chilly evenings and joys of it.

But as Skymet predicts a chilly weekend, savouring roasted peanuts or indulging in movie marathons or gallivanting off to winter hotspots across North India can surely make way to your to-do list.
