The rain episode that occurred between February 11 and 13 in North India caused widespread rain and thundershowers accompanied with hailstorms in parts of Punjab and Haryana. These rains broke the month-long stretched jinx of a dry spell.

Until now, the winter rains were deficit over both the states. Spanning from January 1 till date, the rainfall deficiency of Punjab stood at 69% while for Haryana it was 77%.

However, the three-day rains that occurred this week curtailed the rainfall deficiency prevailing over both the regions. These rains improvised the weekly rainfall spanning from February 08 to February 14 of both the states.
