At present a Cyclonic Circulation is over East Assam. A trough is extending from East Uttar Pradesh up to Arunachal Pradesh across North Bengal and Assam. Another Cyclonic Circulation lies over North Bihar.
As the moisture laden winds are reaching up to North Bihar and adjoining east Uttar Pradesh, rain and thundershower and dust storm are expected at some places in East Uttar Pradesh, South Bihar, some places in North Bihar, northern West Bengal and at several places in the northeastern states.
Light rain and thundershower activities are possible over Coastal Odisha and adjoining parts of South Odisha like Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Balasore, Puri and Ganjam.
In Northeast India, states like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland may experience moderate rain and thundershower activity with squally winds at some places.
No relief from heat wave
On the other hand, only light rainfall activity is expected to continue in Nagaland, Tripura, southern West Bengal, (places like Bankura, Purulia) and adjoining Jharkhand as these places are experiencing dry winds. Thus, heat wave like conditions will prevail in this pocket, and a change is expected only after 24 hours.
As Southwesterly moist winds are prevailing in Kolkata and its adjoining areas, these places will reel under hot and humid weather for the next 48 hours.
