Bihar to wait more for good Monsoon rains, rain deficiency to continue

July 16, 2018 4:59 PM |

BIHAR POST

Since the onset of Southwest Monsoon, barely any episode of good rains was reported over Bihar. In view of this, the state is exceedingly rain deficient by 40%.

Nevertheless, there were occasions when the eastern parts of the state such as Purnea, Bhagalpur, Supaul and Kishanganj have seen moderate spells. Else, only scanty rainfall was witnessed over the other districts of Bihar.

Likewise, in the course of 24 hours, only isolated rains of light intensity were observed over Bihar wherein Purnea received 4 mm and Muzaffarpur 0.2 mm.

Now also, weatherman at Skymet Weather does not expect any momentous weather activity over the state of Bihar. The current and upcoming weather scenario could be attributed to reasons like, one the axis of Monsoon trough which is running South of Bihar and no major weather system be it cyclonic circulation, trough or low pressure is seen or likely to develop in the vicinity of Bihar.

Consequently, more or less dry weather is likely to persist over Bihar throughout the week. Still, there are likelihoods of isolated rains that would be entirely localized over the state.

Hence we can say that the rain deficiency would enhance further as well as persist over the state.
