The state of Bihar has been witnessing heavy to very heavy rains for the past few days. In fact, a few parts have also witnessed three digit rains during this time.
As far as the last 24 hours, isolated heavy rains were seen while other parts of the state recorded light to moderate rainfall. During the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Supaul witnessed a whopping 50.2 mm of rains, Forbesganj recorded 14.2 mm of rains, Muzaffarpur 6.6 mm.

The cyclonic circulation which was over western parts of Bihar has induced a low pressure area over Northeast Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas. Thus, light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells are likely to continue during the next two to three days.
The axis of Monsoon trough is running across Bihar which is why rains will not be as heavy over the hilly areas of Nepal. Therefore, chances of flooding rains are slightly less.
Bihar floods occur when torrential rains occur over the foothills, mostly over the catchment areas. However, rains will be evenly distributed over parts of Bihar this time. Thus, for the time being, this rainy episode will not be devastating but in fact, will be beneficial for.
