Bihar Jharkhand to witness rains, relief to be short lived

October 29, 2018 5:39 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Bihar and Jharkhand, both these easterly states are largely rain deficient. As per the facts, Bihar is rain deficient by 73% and Jharkhand by 69%.

Since the withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon 2018, weather remained practically dry over these states. However, due to the cyclonic storm Titli, Jharkhand received scattered rains and Bihar experienced isolated rains between October 9 and 11.

Presently, the day temperatures are in its mid 30s over these states. And, now a low-pressure area is expected to develop over Northwest Bay of Bengal soon. Due to the influence of this system, eastern parts of the country will receive scattered light to moderate rains. As per Skymet Weather, rain intensity would be more over West Bengal and Odisha. Jharkhand might also get a few spells of rain between October 29 and 31.

It is expected that the eastern and southern districts of Bihar might also receive light rains over some places, but intensity will be much less in comparison to West Bengal and Odisha.

Due to these rain activities and increased cloud cover, day temperatures are expected to drop by two to three degree-Celsius over many parts of Jharkhand and some parts of Bihar. Sadly, weather will once again become dry with rise in temperatures post October 31.
