Bihar, Jharkhand and east Uttar Pradesh have observed some good amounts of rain in the last 24 hours, which has brought much needed relief from the hot weather conditions prevailing in the region. A cyclonic circulation over Bihar and Haryana along with a trough across Uttar Pradesh and Delhi has give rain in the aforementioned areas.
During the next 24 hours, more rain/thundershowers will occur over parts of east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand. Gradually, this rain belt will cover entire Uttar Pradesh. Though rain in this area will be patchy in nature but the region will receive light to moderate thundershowers.
In the last 24 hours, from 8.30 am on Friday Patna received 5 mm of rain. Gaya observed 6 mm of rain. Daltonganj, which was observing hot weather conditions has also received 10 mm of rain, which is a huge respite for the residents.
The temperatures over Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh had been recording 3 to 4 degrees above normal. But with rain lashing these areas, the temperatures have dropped down marginally and are expected to decrease even further. At least for the next 3 to 4 days, the maximums will remain below 40 degrees throughout Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh.
During the next 3 to 4 days, intense rainfall activity is expected in entire east India. Some places in the region may observe only scattered rain till June 16. Thereafter, the temperatures are expected to rise gradually.
