From the looks of it, the infamous fog that the winter brings is here to stay over most parts of Indo-Gangetic. Mostly over parts of East Uttar Pradesh and almost entire Bihar witnessed moderate to dense fog activity today morning.
Along with eastern parts of the country, northern plains like Punjab and Haryana and few areas of North Rajasthan and neighboring regions of Delhi witnessed moderate fog with dense fog at few places.
On Tuesday early morning, Gorakhpur recorded nil visibility and Patna witnessed visibility of mere 400 meters. Just like Gorakhpur Gaya witnessed nil visibility.
Along with East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar few areas of North Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh also witnessed foggy morning. Visibility at Bhopal was at 500 meters, Lucknow witnessed a foggy morning with visibility at a mere 100 meters. Less than a kilometer visibility was witnessed at Indore.
In North India, it was only Delhi and its neighboring areas that witnessed dense fog. Today morning Palam witnessed nil visibility which delayed a lot of Air Traffic.
Due to varied intensity of fog, 55 trains have been delayed, 22 have been rescheduled and 6 trains have been cancelled due to persistence of fog over the Delhi. In totality, 11 flights have been delayed due to persistence of fog over the city.
