Cyclone Lehar left its impact over East India as well. Night temperatures over several eastern states including Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and coastal Odisha are above normal due to the prevailing moisture laden north easterly/easterly winds. Moderately thick fog has been engulfing Bihar and adjoining eastern Uttar Pradesh for the last few days. Patna has been reeling under foggy weather conditions with minimum temperatures hovering around 14 degrees.

A sigh of relief is expected from such conditions in the next 3 to 4 days with relatively cooler winds penetrating these regions. Cool northerly/north westerly winds flowing from the northern hills as well as Northwest India will enter East India, bringing down temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees. Eastern India can then enjoy dry cool mornings leading to enjoyable evenings.

Temperatures in North India continue to remain near normal around 28 degrees. Delhi/NCR witnessed a marginal rise in minimum temperature while Lucknow continues to record below normal minimums at 9 degrees. Central India will maintain near normal temperatures as well, Kota being the exception with a minimum of 8 degrees. Weather in South India is back to normal after two successive cyclones.
