Odisha is gearing up for another spell of pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers on Saturday. According to Skymet Weather, intense clouding can be seen over coastal parts of the eastern state. Rains and thundershowers are likely to begin anytime soon.
Places such as Pradip, Balasore, Puri, Gopalpur and Ganjam will all witness the weather activity. Isolated spells of thunder squall and lightning also cannot be ruled out.
State capital city of Bhubaneswar will also record some showers but intensity will be less as compared to coastal areas.
The state has been recording moderate to heavy rains for the last three consecutive days. All thanks to the trough which is still running from North Bihar up to Chhattisgarh.
According to Skymet Weather, the trough continues to infuse moisture over the region, leading to development of convective clouds over Odisha. These clouds are capable of pounding good rains and thundershowers. In fact, during this time, we can expect high velocity winds as well.
Similar weather conditions will continue over the state for the next 24-48 hours, reducing thereafter.
Let us have at the rainfall figures recorded in span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday across the state.
