During the last one week, dry weather conditions prevailed over the entire state of Madhya Pradesh. Moderate to dense fog prevailed over northern parts of the state.
Presently, a Cyclonic Circulation has developed over eastern parts of Gujarat in the lower levels and an upper air trough is extending from East-central parts of Arabian Sea to eastern parts of Rajasthan across this system which is providing moist winds from the Arabian Sea. Since, this system would be persisting and shifting over to Madhya Pradesh during the next three to four days, hence most parts of Madhya Pradesh will be affected by light spells of rain and thundershowers at many places. One or two places may experience moderate spells of rain and thundershowers along with hailstorm.
During the next 24 hours, the western parts of Madhya Pradesh, may experience light spells of rain and thundershowers at isolated places. Thereafter, rains will be spreading over to central and other parts of Madhya Pradesh except for the Southeast parts. Places like Bhopal, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Datiya, Bhind, Gwalior, Morena, Satna, Damoh, Ujjain, Panna, Rewa, Siddhi, Hoshangabad, Jabalpur, Shahdol, etc are likely to see these rains. These rains are expected to last up to December 26.
Meanwhile, the night temperatures would be increasing by 2 to 4 degrees due to change of air mass while day temperatures are expected to decrease due to the appearance of clouding and rains.
All these rains will be very beneficial for Rabi crops like wheat, corn, peas, mustard etc.
