Madhya Pradesh rains

Cold wave conditions along with moderate to dense fog are prevailing in many parts of North Madhya Pradesh. The northern parts of Madhya Pradesh are in the grip of northwesterly cold winds while southern parts are in the grip of northeasterly cold winds.

According to our meteorologists, we expect the direction of the winds to remain the same during the next 24 to 36 hours. Thereafter, the winds will change their direction to southeasterly, leading to an increase in the minimum and maximum temperature.

January 1 onwards, a Western Disturbance would be affecting the state. Many parts of Madhya Pradesh will receive light to moderate rain and thundershowers between January 1 and 3.

This weather system would particularly impact the southern parts of the state. The eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh are likely to receive moderate spells of rain and thundershowers while the western parts of the state may see light spells of rain and thundershower during the same span. Along with this, hailstorm activity is also likely in some parts.

Places like Jabalpur, Satna, Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, Ujjain etc will witness these rains. All these rains will be very beneficial for crops like wheat, peas, grams, mustard and etc. The day temperature will decrease across the state while the night temperature will increase as a result of these rains.
