Bengaluru is all set to witness another rainy day today. The rain bearing clouds are already hovering over the city and rain and thundershowers to make an appearance anytime soon.
As per Skymet Weather, a trough is seen extending from the North Vidarbha region in Maharashtra to South Tamil Nadu across Telangana and Rayalaseema. On account of this, some rain and thundershowers are expected in Bengaluru today during late afternoon and evening hours.
According to the weathermen at Skymet Weather, morning was pleasant and clouding is expected to increase towards the late afternoon hours today. Rain and thundershowers are expected towards late afternoon and evening. Moreover, chances of moderate gusty winds lashing a few parts cannot be ruled out as well.
Further, these rains are expected to continue in parts of the city until tomorrow. Though, the intensity of rain will be light on May 9 but it is likely to increase on May 10. However, one or two moderate spells in the city are still projected on both days.
At present, the daytime high in Bengaluru are staying above normal. In wake of rain along with cool winds during late afternoon or evening, some relief is anticipated. After these rainy episodes, the weather will once again go on to become dry for next two to three days.
Rainy days have been prevailing in Bengaluru since April 15. Few concluding days of April along with some initial days of May were rainier for the city, post which rains took a break before lashing the city again. The capital of Karnataka has been witnessing rain and thundershowers with an occasional break of a day or two.
Though rains did not show up in parts of the city yesterday, but showers that poured over the day before did bring some relief to the temperature profile. The daytime high which was a scorching 37°C on Sunday plummeted by good 4 degrees and rested at 33.2°C on Monday.
The aptly called ‘Silicon City’ observed some light traces of rainy spells on both May 6 and May 7. And then the weather went on to become dry.
