Though rains had bestowed upon Bengaluru in the past few days, but it failed to drench few other districts of Karnataka. Regions like Belgaum, Dharwad, and Bellary all remained almost dry the entire month of April.
However, on Saturday, rains showed up in a few parts of the state. During the time frame, Belgaum received 38 mm of rains, Hassan 14.6 mm, Chitradurga 13.2 mm, Dharwad 6 mm, and Gadag recorded a few traces. The state capital Bengaluru also recorded light showers of 6 mm. In fact, light rain was seen over the city yesterday as well.
These recent rainy spells resulted in making the weather condition across most parts of the state pleasant thereby leading to drop in the maximums. Due to these rainy traces, the daytime high that were settling close to the 40-degree mark, also plummeted several notches.
As per Skymet Weather, this recent rainfall episode can be attributed to an upper air cyclonic circulation that can be seen over South Chhattisgarh and a trough is also seen extending from South Konkan up to Comorin region across Telangana, interior Karnataka, and Kerala.
Moreover, this system is likely to give more rains today that are expected to continue until tomorrow. However, the intensity of these rains tomorrow will be comparatively light. True to their nature, these pre-Monsoons showers will happen during the late afternoon or evening hours.
Hence people in Bengaluru and other parts of Karnataka can brace for some more showers visiting them soon.
