The month of August has been good in terms of receiving excess Monsoon rains for Bengaluru, particularly the second week of August has recorded a good amount of rainfall activities. Moreover, the weather conditions over the state including Bengaluru have remained extremely pleasant during the last few days.
Thus, several districts of Karnataka, as well as Bengaluru, have been receiving on and off light to moderate rains. Besides, in a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Sunday, Bengaluru recorded 6.1 mm of rainfall.
These weather conditions have been occurring due to the southwesterly winds which are blowing from the Arabian Sea. Due to this, moisture incursion has been taking place over the region resulting in cloud development. Hence, on and off scattered light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected to continue over the state during the next 24 to 36 hours.
Thereafter, the intensity of these good Monsoon rains is expected to reduce significantly over the city in the coming few days. Though isolated pockets of the state may continue to witness a few spells of scattered light Monsoon rains.
