Bengaluru has been witnessing warm weather conditions for quite some time now. So much so that the temperatures have been settling above the normal levels. Yesterday, the maximum settled at 36.1 degrees which is two notches above the normal levels.
However, rain gods have been kind enough over the garden city since the last 24 hours. Cloudy weather conditions have taken over. Not only this, the city during the last 24 hours witnessed a few traces of rain. While the rains were not widespread in nature, a few areas in the northern parts of Bengaluru did receive some rainfall activity.
These weather conditions can be attributed to a trough which is currently running from Telangana to South Tamil Nadu across Kerala and Karnataka region. Moist winds from the Bay of Bengal are feeding moisture to the trough which is resulting in cloud formation over the city.
Parts of the city did witness some rain and thunderstorm activity with squally winds during the last hour. However, rains have now stopped over the city.
As per weathermen at Skymet, the regeneration of rain bearing clouds is possible during the next few hours. In fact, more parts of the capital city of Karnataka are likely to witness rain and thundershowers during the next few hours. A slight drop in temperatures is also expected.
