These rains are attributed to the presence of a trough which is running from Rayalaseema up to the Gulf of Mannar. Thus, the trough is running close to Bengaluru which is why the city has been witnessing good showers for quite some time now. Moisture incursion has resulted in cloud development which furthermore caused rains in the capital city of Bengaluru.
