Since the beginning of Southwest Monsoon, Bengaluru as well as other districts of South Interior Karnataka has not received moderate to heavy showers. Only light on and off showers have been witnessed over the region.

Similarly, since last a few days, the Garden city has just recorded scattered rain and thundershowers. At present, South Interior Karnataka is rain deficient by 28%. In the last 24 hours, Bengaluru has received rainfall to the tune of 6 mm. These rains are due to localized weather phenomenon. Thus, it is evident that last 24 hours were also not too different for the area.
As per Skymet Weather, subdued rains are expected to continue over Bengaluru and adjoining parts. The rain intensity is anticipated to increase marginally by July 9 or 10 but then also, heavy rains are not foreseen. During the same time frame, few areas may see good showers; however the overall intensity of the rains will remain on the lower end.

Consequently, the rain deficiency will persist throughout the month of July but the weather will remain pleasant over Bengaluru. Heavy rains will continue to elude the cyber city.
For the month of July, the average rainfall for Bengaluru stands at 112.9 mm. In the same way, in the entire month of June, the city has not recorded any double digit rains.
