Bengaluru surpasses monthly mean; rainy week ahead

Heavy spells with squally winds have not only lashed Bengaluru hard but had also made the weather conditions across the city extremely pleasant with a sigh of relief from hot weather conditions as well. On and off rains have been prevalent in the city since the initial days of May.

In fact, rains have also lashed Bengaluru in the last 24 hours as well. In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Tuesday, Bengaluru recorded 13 mm of rains. Counting on this, the city has already surpassed it monthly average rainfall stats which stands at 107.4 mm. So far, the city of joy has recorded a total of 118.4 mm of rains. and still counting.

As per Skymet Weather, the wind discontinuity is presently seen over interior parts of Karnataka and Kerala. In wake of this, moist winds from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are increasing the moisture levels over these areas which have led to an intensification of rain and thundershowers activities over Bengaluru.

Further, Skymet Weather predicts that situation is conducive for the rains to continue over Karnataka including Bengaluru for the entire week. In fact, good rains are anticipated today as well and in the next 48 hours, one or two good spells of rain are expected. Moreover, the intensity of these showers is expected to intensify around May 26 or May 27.

Thereafter, the rains are likely to lash the city with a reduced intensity but Bengaluru will not witness completely dry weather. Hence, the cyber capital of the country will keep on witnessing pleasant weather conditions for the remaining days of the week. Cloudy weather will remain prevalent in the city.
