Monsoon rains are not doing many benefits to the city of Bengaluru wherein the heavy spells have not occurred from quite a few days. Though the city has recorded occasional on and off rains, heavy showers have remained absent from pouring over.

As against the monthly mean of 106.5 mm, Bengaluru has just recorded 26.4 mm of rains so far in the month of June. Hence, the city will be unable to meet its monthly target. Though the weather of Bengaluru has and will remain dry, rains, light in nature may show upon the city occasionally.

As per Skymet Weather, the dry weather prevailing in the city can be associated with the absence of any significant weather system. As of now also, no significant weather system is expected to form over South Interior Karnataka including Bengaluru. In the wake of this, the dry spell is likely to prevail over the state capital. However, as a feeble trough is over the West Coast, thus good rains are foreseen over Coastal Karnataka but the interior regions including Bengaluru will remain dry and warm.

As moisture is available in the atmosphere, it may lead to patchy and light rains to occur on a few occasions. Cloud cover may show up in parts of the city occasionally but chances of any heavy rains are ruled out.

Bengaluru normally witnesses rains when a north-south trough forms over Interior Karnataka which was the condition during the month of May. Moreover, whenever any cyclonic circulation or a low-pressure area develops over Southwest Bay and move in the interiors, then also, interior Karnataka including Bengaluru and interior Tamil Nadu witness rains. At present, none of the systems as mentioned above are foreseen and hence, rains are not anticipated in the near future.
