Bengaluru rains to revive in 24 hours; pleasant weather to prevail

November 16, 2017 1:24 PM | Skymet Weather Team

After remaining dry for approximately 10 days, Skymet Weather predicts some light rains to show up once again over the southern coastal districts of the state. Bengaluru is also likely to receive some light showers for the next 24 hours.

Since November 7, Bengaluru and most parts of Karnataka are witnessing dry weather conditions. The rains were proactive in most parts of Karnataka including Bengaluru city when the Northeast Monsoon was active in the Southern Peninsular India last week and gave flooding rains over the neighboring state of Tamil Nadu.

However, during that time also, rains were more confined to the coastal stations of Tamil Nadu and Bengaluru had mainly observed light to moderate showers only. Though despite the absence of rains, the weather across Bengaluru and parts of Karnataka remained comfortable.

As of now, a cyclonic circulation is over south coastal Karnataka and Kerala and a trough is extending up to interior Karnataka. In the wake of this, light rains are expected to occur over Bengaluru and parts of south coastal Karnataka in the next 24 hours.

However, by November 18, the weather over south interior Karnataka including Bengaluru will once again become dry with partly cloudy to a cloudy sky. Though the districts lying at North Interior Karnataka and the coastal stations of the state are expected to keep witnessing light to moderate spells between November 18 and 19.

Thereafter, the weather of almost the entire state will become dry though isolated spells are expected to keep drenching some parts of North and Coastal Karnataka. But due to the absence of any significant weather system, heavy showers for Karnataka are ruled out for at least a week. But the weather will continue to remain pleasant.
